Exec says Gazprom to build wet gas refinery in Ust-Luga

MOSCOW, Apr 27 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to build a wet natural gas refinery near the port of Ust-Luga with a capacity of about 45 billion cubic meters (bcm) a year, Vsevolod Cherepanov, member of the executive team, said at a conference call on Friday.

“There are plans to build a wet gas refinery in the area of Ust-Luga. To deliver wet gas to Ust-Luga from the area of its production in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region, we will have to upgrade the collection system for the gas,” Cherepanov said.

“But the costs are minimal, because there is a separate collection system for each deposit. You’ll simply have to put the gas into a separate pipe. The annual capacity will be set at about 45 bcm, and all this gas with a high ethane content will be sent to the refinery.”
